Devra Davis: Cellular radiation talk
The Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition is sponsoring a free webinar on the health impact of cellular radiation on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 12:30 p.m Eastern Time (9:30 a.m. Pacific time)
The featured speaker is Devra Lee Davis, visiting professor of medicine at The Hebrew University, who founded an organization called the Environmental Health Trust in Teton County, Wyoming in 2007.
Davis warns of the dangers in the cell phone industry and contends that industry is knowingly exposing people in the pursuit of profit.
Time Magazine selected Davis’ book, “Disconnect: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Is Doing to Hide It, and How to Protect Your Family,” as a top pick in 2010. The book earned a Silver Medal from Nautilus Books for courageous investigation in 2013. To join the webinar, register at www.gotowebinar.com.
Later that evening, Centerville Concerned Citizens members are scheduled to testify at Barnstable Zoning Board of Appeals meeting at Barnstable Town Hall, at 7 p.m. The board is expected to vote on T-Mobile’s application for a special permit to install cell antennas inside the steeple at South Congregational Church. The company initially had such a permit, but it was suspended in July pending discussion of zoning regulations.
The Centerville citizens group is on record as opposed to the cell antennas and has cited radiation concerns, among other issues.
